Board of Trustees

It is my pleasure to be serving as the 2019 President of the VESD Board of Trustees.  On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank everyone who takes the time to visit the VESD website.

2019 will be an exciting year for VESD.  We are looking forward to opening our newest school, near the northwest corner of El Evado and Mojave Dr., in August 2019. This school will give some desperately needed breathing room to several existing schools in VESD.

Our three Board Goals focus on students in different ways:

  1. All students will reach their full potential.
  2. All staff will support every student in reaching their full potential.
  3. VESD will partner with all families as they support their children in reaching their full potential.

There are many actions taking place as VESD strives to reach its goals. There is a steady focus on academics, social-emotional learning, and safety for all students.  VESD Employees are provided with professional development that is top notch so that they are all experts in each of these three areas. Our Family Resource Center and school sites are working hard to provide parent and guardians with everything they need to assist their children.

VESD believes very strongly in continuous improvement which involves lots of collaboration. Every year we receive input from six committees made up of staff, parents and community members, as well as, Student Focus Groups from each school site.  We also value everyone who participates in our Student, Parent, and Staff surveys. As a Board, we would like to thank everyone for your input, communication, and support that helps VESD to grow!
