You are invited to apply for the
2009 Team Academic Excellence Award

Who: Your Team (A team will consist of 3 or more certificated and/or classified staff who are working together.)

Where: Your School

What: Complete the online or attached application and determine your team’s eligibility for the award. If your team has earned a base of 46* points or more then submit the application along with a Team Photo to Ross Swearingen at Educational Services. Two members of the Team Excellence Committee will schedule a visit to hold a conversation (30/45 minutes) with your team to affirm your application. Please select two areas and be prepared to discuss them at the affirmation interview.

When: Deadline to submit application to Educational Services is March 3rd. Your visit will be scheduled prior to the end of the school year to discuss the components of your successful team.

Why: To offset the punitive nature of the No Child Left Behind Laws by recognizing and rewarding teams who collaborate by implementing research based strategies to improve achievement for the students in the Victor Elementary School District. This process is designed to assist teams with continuous improvement.

Recognition will include a certificate of award for each team member, opening day recognition, district website recognition, and community recognition.

* If your team earned the award in 2007, they must earn at least 1 more point than the prior award or have more team members to be eligible for the award in 2008 or future years. Whole school teams who have previously scored 57 points must maintain that score to be considered for this award.
