Governor Newsom's Return to School Guidelines

Governor Newsom's Return to School Guidelines
Posted on 07/17/2020

Governor Newsom just released a series of guidelines aimed at helping schools determine when and how to welcome kids back to school safely. Given that our first day of school is August 17, we remain hopeful that our students will be back on campus to start the school year, whether fully or a hybrid model. If San Bernardino County remains on the governor's monitoring list after August 3, we will be ready to start the school year with a robust distance learning program that will meet and exceed the expectations that our families have for their child's education.

Our distance learning program will provide rigorous instruction, increased accountability for all of our stakeholders, and consistency that will help to ease the burden of online learning for our families. Additionally, our Nutrition Services team will continue to offer weekly meal services beginning the week of August 17.

When we can bring kids back to campus, we do expect to have options for those families who wish to continue via distance learning or independent study.

We look forward to the day that we can bring all students back to campus safely. In the meantime, we promise to do whatever it takes to inspire purposeful learners who create their futures with confidence, curiosity, innovation, and integrity. #vesdstrongertogether
