Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the Victor Elementary School District!  We are excited to share with you the staff, practices, and programs within VESD that are here to support you and your family.  Our commitment to making a difference in your child's life remains at the forefront of everything we do.

VESD has 18 school sites that serve the community by offering rigorous and relevant academic opportunities that are complemented by each school's unique focus. In order to grow and adapt to meet the needs of our community, the district has adopted a shared leadership strategy. Shared leadership allows our schools to practice site-based autonomy and engage their students, families, and staff in the decision-making process. Student focus groups are held each trimester at our school sites to ensure every student's voice is heard. Parents are encouraged to participate in their school's planning by participating in the School Site Council, English Language Advisory Committee, parent-teacher organizations, and Coffee with the Principal.

VESD continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of our students and community. To increase support for academics, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional learning (SEL), each school site has a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) team. These teams consist of a principal, assistant principal, on-site instructional coach, school psychologist, and school safety coordinator. MTSS teams collaborate with staff and parents to define key focus areas along with specific actions and strategies to ensure sustainable progress for each student.

We seek involvement from our staff, parents, and community through our six ongoing LCAP committees. These committees play an integral part in determining actions and services in our annual planning. Currently, we have an African American Engagement Committee, Budget Committee, District English Language Advisory Committee, District/Parent Advisory Committee, Foster Youth Committee, and Quality Works. Our committee members are dedicated individuals who have made it their business to learn our work and provide feedback to foster success and ongoing improvement.

Our Family Resource Center has been fully operational for over five years. The FRC provides a computer lab for parents, supplies and resources for families such as shoes and backpacks, and a wide variety of classes. Some of the courses offered include English (levels 1 - 4), Spanish, family budgeting, counseling, nutrition, parenting through Love and Logic, and much more. We are currently extending our FRC to the school sites to increase accessibility to resources, and the outreach serves as a strong connection with our families.

There are many opportunities for our educational partners to get involved in VESD. Please feel free to contact a school site or our district office if you are interested. We thank you for your support and look forward to working with you to provide the best education for our students.
