Whether you’re going on a family vacation, your child is sick, or there is a personal emergency, Short Term Independent Study ensures your student stays up to date. By completing a simple packet of work, your child receives full credit for the day.
How It Works

Notify School
Let the front office know your student will be absent. Advance notice is best, but same-day requests are often possible.

Sign Agreement
A parent or guardian must sign the Short Term Independent Study agreement form at the office or sign it online.

Complete Work
Your student receives a work packet tailored to their grade. They complete it during their absence.

Get Credit
Return the work. The absence is cleared, attendance credit is granted, and grades stay intact!
When can I use this?
You can use Independent Study for almost any absence reason, including:
- Medical: Your child is sick or recovering.
- Emergency: Your family has an urgent need.
- Time Away: Your child is traveling with family.
Important Reminder
The maximum duration for Short Term Independent Study is 15 days per school year.
The earlier you let us know, the better prepared the teacher can be to provide a high-quality learning packet for your child.
