Board of Trustees Message

joyce chamberlain.jpg

Thank you for visiting the Victor Elementary School District website.  My name is Joyce Chamberlain and I am President of the Victor Elementary School District Board of Trustees.  I am pleased to write this on behalf of the entire Board.

I have lived in Victorville for 15 years and both of my children attended elementary school here in Victor Elementary School District.

Victor Elementary School District has had a history of embracing change and that is evident in the work we are doing now.  This is our second year of Common Core State Standard implementation.  Our teachers have dug in by attending ample professional development opportunities, writing units, collaborating, and sharing.  The VESD Board is proud of their efforts!

Award Winning Schools

Visionary Mission Statement

VESD is committed to inspiring pur- poseful learners who create their futures with confidence, curiosity, innovation, and integrity through engaging learning experiences in safe environments within a suppor- tive culture.

Schools of Choice

Announcing an innovative new opportunity! VESD is reinventing itself by making all of our school sites “Schools of Choice” with individual focuses such as health and fitness, drama and the arts, technology, music and science just to mention a few. The district will be broken into 4 areas called quadrants. Students will now have the opportunity to choose any school within the quadrant in which they live based on their interest AND still have transportation provided.

What does this mean for you:

  • Transportation will be provided to any school in your quadrant
  • Two mile walking radius remains in effect surrounding the School      of Choice selected
  • Start/end times remain the same as 2013/2014 for each school
  • Transportation provided in the same safe and efficient manner
