By taking stereotypes of the past and proving them wrong, VESD has proven to be a trendsetter in the world of education. VESD has twice received an award from the California Council for Excellence naming VESD as one of the top districts in the state. When demographics are taken into consideration VESD may very well be the top district in the state of California. As a whole, VESD has one of the highest district wide API test scores in the state of California with an API score of 809. We also have two schools with test scores over 900 and almost half of our schools are above the “coveted” 800 API score.
